Public Open Spaces and Plots Cleaning Campaign 2018

The Municipality of Limassol, within the framework of a cleaning and embellishment campaign of the city, launched in mid-March an ongoing project for the cleaning of public spaces and plots within municipal boundaries.

Owners of plots and other open spaces are invited to clean and remove all types of hay and scrap objects by transferring them to a licensed unit no later than 31 May 2018.  Plot owners that are unable to clean their fields on their own can contact the Public Health Services of the Municipality at 25 884590 or 25 770620 (Ayia Fyla area) or 25 716236 (Zakaki area), to have them cleaned at a cost of €100.00 for a whole plot or at 60.00 for half a plot. The owners should remove any vehicles, machinery or other objects are kept at the plots to facilitate their cleaning. The Limassol Municipality will not be held responsible for any loss or damage.

Immobilised vehicles abandoned in public or private open spaces will be removed and divested by the Municipality in accordance with the provisions of the Legislation.  

Upon expiration of the deadline, the Municipality will proceed with the cleaning of the plots that have not been cleaned and the owners of the plot will be requested to pay for the relevant cleaning expenses through legal proceedings in accordance with the Municipal Law on pollution of public spaces. The Municipality considers the positive response and close cooperation of the public as a prerequisite for the success of the campaign.
