Stimulating Citizens Participation to Recycle Processes

The Limassol Municipality actively participates in the project “Stimulating Citizens Participation to Recycle Processes through the Implementation of Benefits Systems – Benefit As you Save – BAS”.

The main objective of the project is to address the common problem of particularly low recycling rates as opposed to European policies and targets. Furthermore, it seeks to contribute to the increase of the proportion of municipal solid waste sorted by source and directed to reuse, recycling or composting. Citizens, businesses and other entities are encouraged to contribute to waste separation selection through the implementation of incentive schemes.
