N. Nicolaides: Mishiaouli & Kavazoglou is our top priority

The Limassol Municipality is planning to take action to get a series of co-financed projects back on track. The projects were to be implemented in the city of Limassol but have been put on ice due to the COVID-19 crisis.

The Mayor of Limassol, Nicos Nicolaides, has asked the competent ministry to exclude from the temporary suspension of operations - a measure taken in response to COVID-19 - some of the projects, namely the redevelopment of Mishiaouli & Kavazoglou street, which are considered crucial and of the highest priority. However, the request was rejected on the grounds that, due to the prevailing situation, no exceptions could be made for any project. It should be mentioned that for the time being, works are carried out by the company that has undertaken the redevelopment project, ensuring the maximum number of 3 employees at each construction site.

Despite the delays in the execution and completion of the projects, the Limassol Municipality assures its citizens, especially the residents affected directly by the works, that all necessary actions are being taken so that once the extraordinary restrictions are removed, the projects can start immediately at such a pace that their time completion time is close to the initial estimate.
