“Integrated Limassol Development” (DIL)

On Friday 26^th February 2021, the Mayor of Limassol mister Nicos Nicolaides, the leader of the co-operation of the six Municipalities of the region of Greater Limassol, presented to the Ministry of Interior and to officials of the administrating authority, the strategic plan with the name “Integrated Limassol Development”.

This strategy is aiming to the improvement of the standard of living and the quality of life of all citizens who reside within the greater region of Limassol, without excluding any neighbourhood or Municipality.

The origin of the funding of these investments comes from various national and community sources. The realization of the Integrated Limassol Development will bring many benefits to the citizens of the Grater Limassol region as far as social coherence and reinforcement of the social fabric, environment and the climate change, the interconnectivity of the Municipalities, innovation and entrepreneurship, effective operation of the city.

The proposals that were submitted originate from consultation with groups and active citizens of the town, the priorities of the six municipalities, the national and community development plan and compose an integrated and interconnected whole.

The administrative sufficiency of the Municipality of Limassol and the planning of the mechanisms for application and control, are a security for the effectiveness of the application of measures and actions, their  effective and timely materialization and the diffusion of the expected sustainable development of the Grater Limassol  region
