30-01-2020

As part of formulating an Integrated Limassol Development (ILD) strategy for the programming period 2021-2027, the third and final consultation between our city’s strategic partners and higher education institutions, research and innovation centres, and cultural and social bodies was held yesterday, Wednesday, 29 January 2020 at the Limassol Town Hall.

By means of these three meetings convened by the Mayor of Limassol, Nicos Nicolaides, acting on behalf of all local authorities in the broader area of Limassol, all relevant stakeholders have been briefed on the ideas and proposals of the Integrated Limassol Development Strategic Plan, which provides for the implementation of good practices and specific actions and projects throughout the municipalities of greater Limassol.  Community funding, government grants, municipal and other alternative funding methods as well as private sector funding will be sought in order to carry out this project.

At the conclusion of the consultations, proposals were submitted by stakeholders to the Mayors of greater Limassol, which are to be studied in the near future as to create the overview of the strategic plan. Consultations with interest groups and citizens are also expected to be held.
