Limassol Carnival Environmental Policy

Limassol Mayor, Nicos Nicolaides discussed with Environment Commissioner, Klelia Vasiliou a number of possible changes for a more sustainable carnival over a meeting held on Tuesday, 10 March. The meeting was attended by Limassol Deputy Mayor, Municipal Councillors and municipal officials. 

The prohibition of spray cans and plastic streamer has been put on the table, with the Environment Commissioner stating that she shall take initiatives to promote prohibitory injunctions or laws. Other issues relating to the environmental aspect of the Limassol Carnival were also discussed.
