In a happy atmosphere, children enjoyed the impressively upgraded playground of the Limassol Public Garden

The Limassol Municipality is delighted to announce the successful opening of the upgraded playground in the historic Municipal Gardens. On May 28th, the residents of Limassol were greeted with an entirely transformed play space, merging nature and fun in a child-friendly environment.

"We were thrilled to see such a positive response from our community," said Mayor Nikos Nikolaides. “It's a space where nature meets childhood joy, and we are incredibly proud of it. The playground symbolises the commitment to creating inclusive, vibrant spaces for our younger generation."

The newly upgraded playground, strategically centered around a pre-existing and restored oasis and sitting area, features state-of-the-art play equipment most of which are  designed to engage children of all abilities. The playground is crafted to foster physical activity, social interaction, and cognitive development, incorporating toys such as a shipwreck, a miniaturised Limassol port, a planetarium, climbing frames, swings, slides, a specialised area for toddlers, and even an interactive equipment (Yalp Sona),

Each piece of equipment contributes to an immersive mythical narrative adding a magical touch to the play experience.

The playground's design and safety features follow EU standards, ensuring a safe, fun-filled environment for children. Every toy, the safety floor, and the playground as a whole are certified by a licensed company, assuring parents and caregivers of the safety and quality of the playground.

This playground was made possible with the donation by Midbrain Ltd, an investment company of Peter Skoromnyi, Matvey Timoshenko and Oleg Grushevich, founders and former owners of Easybrain. As a gift to the community, and operated by Limassol Municipality similar to other playgrounds, this playground is free to use for everyone.

Organised by Limassol Municipality, the opening day festivities were filled with excitement, including family-friendly activities such as face painting, magic shows, and live music, alongside free refreshments and snacks. The event was enjoyed by Limassol residents and visitors alike, creating a lively atmosphere within the heart of the city. 

The Limassol Municipality extends its warm thanks to the community for their overwhelming response and invites everyone to enjoy the newly upgraded playground and the beautifully landscaped surroundings of the Municipal Gardens.
