Limassol Intercultural Council Meeting

This year’s third Limassol Intercultural Council meeting took place on 27/07/2020 under the chairmanship of the Mayor, Nicos Nicolaides.  Its members, who come from various migrant organisations active in Limassol, representatives of diplomatic missions and delegates from international organisations dealing with migration issues discussed about the city’s cultural diversity and intercultural policies.  

Inter alia, the measures taken to deal with the pandemic were reviewed; participation in various European programs was discussed, while the development of a new Intercultural Strategy for the period 2021-2025, the conduct of campaigns and the collaboration and mutual assistance between the members were also put on the table.  

Among other things, the Mayor of Limassol, Mr Nicos Nicolaides, suggested that efforts be made to locate premises to “house” the Municipality’s intercultural activities, in the form of an Intercultural Centre in Limassol.

The meeting was also attended by the Municipal Councillors Neophytos Charalambides and Elias Ioakeim.
