A press conference on the 12 th EuroMediterranean Festival of Traditional Dances was held on Thursday, 26/07/2018 at the Town Hall. The festival constitutes a meeting of dance groups from several European and Mediterranean countries, with both local and foreign spectators getting an eyeful of colourful and vibrant performances.

The Festival will be taking place from 06/08/2018 - 10/08/2018 and part of the events will be held on the streets and in neighbourhoods of the Limassol Municipality.

In his speech, the Mayor of Limassol, Mr Nicos Nicolaides, publicly thanked all those who participated in the organisation of the event, the company Papadopoulos & Schinis, as well as all sponsors and supporters.

For his part, the Chairman of the Committee on Regional Communication and Development, Mr Psaras, presented the program of the events as well as the dance groups that will be participating in this folk meeting.

It is worth mentioning that this year the Golden Stars award ceremony will be included in the festival, following a proposal by the World Folklore Union I.G.F. and will be hosted for the first time in our city on 8 August 2018.

This event is organised each year in a different city around the world and is considered a great honour for those awarded. This year, people from Israel, Russia, France, Poland and Cyprus will be honoured for their contribution to Folk Tradition.
