16-04-2021

Nicos Nicolaides, the Mayor of Limassol inspected the works for the installation of the smart Traffic Lights at the roundabout of Agia Fyla. In his statements, he mentioned that with the operation of the system it is estimated that the waiting time will be reduced by 50% with the result that the traffic problem that afflicts thousands of drivers will be reduced by a significant degree.

According to the update that the Mayor received from the appropriate officers, the signalling project ELV LED with traffic control system MOVA, is expected to be completed on 25th of May 2021.

As the Mayor of Limassol mentioned,”the project is the first one of a series of projects with the aim to ease the traffic of Agia Fyla. The other projects, he said, is the  highway overpass that will connect Kostis Palamas street with Ellie Lambeti street, the by-pass of the centre of Agia Fyla, the  Park and Ride system in the area to reinforce public transport and some other projects of local importance within the quarter of Agia Fyla. We hope, he stated, that when these projects are concluded, together with the by-pass which is the extension of Evagoras Lanitis Street on either side of Andreas Papandreou street, then we can say that Agia Fyla has come out of the traffic isolation and the traffic problem will stop tormenting thousands of residents”
