BEACH & AQUA WORKOUT FUN on Akti Olympion

With CSO as the national coordinating body, the Limassol Municipality Sports Office together with the Limassol Winter Swimmers and Friends Club "Akti Olympion” organised on Wednesday, 30 September 2020, for the second consecutive year, the BEACH & AQUA WORKOUT FUN from 7:00am to 9:00am on the Akti Olympion beach.

The event was held as part of the 6^th European Week of Sport #BeActive 23 - 30 September 2020, which is Europe’s largest campaign promoting physical activity and sport, encouraging millions of people to integrate exercise into their daily routine to build better, healthier lifestyles. The Municipality actively participates in this initiative every year, supporting the campaign with various actions taken.  

Limassol Mayor stated, among other things, that Limassol, as the first city in Cyprus to be awarded the title of European City of Sport, is part of a modern network of cooperation and communication between European cities, with a core of proposals and actions regarding sports and their benefits on people. Our goal, he said, is for this title to serve as the basis for the further development of grassroots sports, encouraging citizens to integrate exercise into their daily lives.
