Limassol Municipality calls for self-discipline. Let’s not undo what we have achieved so far.
During these past two months, we have all made an unprecedented effort to deal with COVID-19 by sacrificing our routines and staying away from loved ones. Nevertheless, despite being deprived of our favourite habits, we remained steadfast, serious and disciplined for our own and our families and friends’ sake.
This collective effort resulted in preventing the uncontrolled spread of the virus and this is why today we can be optimistic and take pride in what we have done. The citizens of Limassol are the ones to take credit for this, since in their vast majority they have implemented and are still implementing all necessary protective measures against the pandemic.
Unfortunately, it was brought to the Municipality’s attention that in the last 24 hours, a small number of citizens did not respect social distancing measures, thus jeopardising everything we have achieved. We urge everyone to respect this collective effort and to take the necessary precautions. We must all contribute positively to this first stage of the strategy for a gradual lifting of the restrictive measures in order return to normality the soonest possible.
As a Municipality, within the scope of our responsibilities, we take all the necessary measures to comply with the instructions and rules set by the Government and we are in constant consultation with the competent authorities.
We remain disciplined, we stay safe, we can get through this!
