Become a part of the effort of euPOLIS to bring nature into the neighborhood of Limassol’s Municipal Gardens

3-06-2021

The Municipality of Limassol in co-operation with NTUA (National Technical University of Athens), scientists and professionals from Greece and the whole of Europe, materializes the international project euPOLIS, which is funded by the European Union. The project is funded by the program Horizon 2020 and aims to the replacement or to a combination of the traditional and expensive mechanical systems that were built for the protection of the environment, by natural systems for the creation of durable urban ecosystems with a life span of lower cost and at the same time the reinforcement of public health. The objectives of the project are to improve the resilience of the cities with intervention of the suitable plans of urban design and without exclusions of urban areas.

The role of the Municipality of Limassol in euPolis is the observation, support and contribution with data regarding the local conditions such as records of improvements, potentialities and possible gaps that may exist with regards to natural solutions.

The Municipality of Limassol has prepared a questionnaire and invites the citizens of Limassol, to express their opinion with regards to actions and improvements that they consider most ideal for the part of the Municipal Gardens along the sea front. The research will include various incentives of interaction between groups that live and work in the areas involved, together with their interests such as sports, culture, social interaction family visits, work etc.

We therefore invite our citizens to join the effort to bring a more healthy and rich natural element in their neighborhood so that we improve the health and welfare of the residents, those who work and visit their area.
