Presentation of the Limassol Integrated Development (IDL) strategy and proposals for 2021-2027

18-07-2020

In tough economic times, Limassol has been preparing for the next day and has been planning a series of proposals for development projects to cover the new programming period 2021 – 2027, which will start in 2021 and will be completed by 2027. The Limassol Integration Development (LID) strategic plan involves all six Municipalities of Limassol and was presented in the context of the Public Consultation held at the Pattihio Theatre on Saturday, 18 July 2020.

The aim, as Limassol Mayor stressed in his greeting at the event, is to turn Limassol into a “smart, environment, citizen and business-friendly city supporting social cohesion, innovation, entrepreneurship and affirming its metropolitan role”. Mr Nicolaides pointed out that the strategic plan for integrated spatial development “provides for the diffusion of development by means of specific actions and projects in all city districts as well as in the wider urban area of Limassol”.  He added that the plan has in view an integrated spatial development that will not be limited to administrative units or districts, nor will it exclude social strata and categories. He called on citizens to actively participate in the Public Consultation by submitting their own proposals, so that “together we can shape Limassol into the city it deserves to be, thus creating the city we deserve”.
