Attractive & Accessible Public Spaces to promote Intermodal Leisure Trips

The Municipality of Limassol, in the context of its participation in the European project CIVITAS DESTINATIONS and in collaboration with the Limassol Tourism Development and Promotion Company and Stratagem Energy Ltd has successfully implemented the measure “Attractive & Accessible Pubic Spaces to Promote Intermodal Leisure Trips”.

The measure includes an action plan to promote the principle of eco-routing by connecting three municipal parking lots: the parking lot on Kyriakou Oikonomou, the parking lot on Andreas Themistokleous street and the parking lot on the embankment opposite the church of Ayia Napa.

In the parking lots on Andreas Themistokleous and Kyriakou Oikonomou streets, a covered info kiosk was constructed providing information on the eco-route, while signage was installed on the floor with the help of marble sections forming a special pattern along the entire route. Additionally, a bike sharing station was installed in all 3 parking lots, while guide signs as well as information signs regarding the points of interest have been placed.
