Attendees impressed by the 57th Wine Festival opening ceremony

The opening ceremony of the 57^th Wine Festival was held on 31^st August 2018 at the Limassol Municipal Garden.

This year’s guests were pleasantly surprised to come across a unique curtain-raiser. A music and dance show added an artistic touch to the ceremonious part of the evening and impressed an unprecedented number of attendees, both officials and citizens.

Under the artistic direction of Vassos Argyrides, all actors outdid themselves with their performances. The dialogues, music and traditional dances painted a unique traditional picture and led to a performance of high standards, setting the bar high for future opening ceremonies. The theatrical decoration and artistic light installations further contributed to the whole atmosphere of the Municipal Garden, marking the beginning of a new era for the Wine Festival.

The Mayor of Limassol, Mr Nicos Nicolaides and the Municipal Council would like to thank all those who contributed to the organisation of the opening ceremony and, of course, all attendees who honoured the event with their presence.
