Limassol Mayor visits brand new Limassol Agora
Limassol Mayor visited the fully renovated and upgraded Limassol Agora (formally the Limassol Municipal Market) on its first day of operation. In his statements, among other things, he mentioned the following:
“After many years of inaction and inertia a project was completed today, which will not only have a symbolic and historical value, but will also have substantial benefits for all Limassol residents. The revamped Limassol Agora is the result of cooperation between the Limassol Municipality and private investors. Mixing traditional and modern elements, the Limassol Agora will certainly serve as an example and we wouldn’t be exaggerating to say that it may currently be the best of its kind in Southeast Europe. The Agora, in combination with other Municipal projects, will breathe new life into both the city centre and the quality of life of all citizens. The Limassol Municipality will continue to support the project in many ways and congratulates the project managers for their boldness and determination in these really difficult times and for investing in long-term developments of a social value”.
The new Limassol Agora (the cost of which reaches almost 3 million Euros), will undoubtedly establish itself among the top choices for public outings and entertainment, offering a wide range of options and experiences. This new multipurpose space includes 14 restaurants serving Cypriot, Greek, Asian, Lebanese and Italian cuisine, ranging from simple quality street food to more gourmet flavours, 2 bars (one of which is located outside on the mezzanine floor) a cafeteria, an ice cream parlour and 13 shops selling from traditional to hi-tech products. Additionally, the Agora features a traditional bakery, a delicatessen, a fruit market, a wine shop and a hair salon. The area also has a playground area and event venues.
