A tour to the Municipal Market Regeneration Project (Limassol AGORA)

A press conference was successfully held on Monday, 11/11/2019 at the refurbished A’ Municipal Market (Limassol AGORA) where the press was informed on the progress of the project, its renovation and re-opening. The press caught a glimpse of the renovated premises and a sneak preview of the final project.

The press conference was given by the Mayor of Limassol, Mr Nicos Nicolaides and the owner and director of Prosperity Group of Companies, Mr Panos Alexandrou.

Following a tour and presentation of the work carried out by Mr Alexandrou, it was determined that everything is going according to plan and the agreed upon timeline. The upgraded historic site of Limassol will officially open its doors to welcome the public in March 2020.

Mr Alexandrou stated that both companies and individuals merchandising traditional products are greatly interested in the project, likewise professional caterers and retailers, since the Limassol AGORA is expected to attract thousands of visitors, both locals and foreigners.

The Mayor of Limassol stated that this project, in addition to supporting commercially this city, promotes and highlights the preservation of Cyprus’ history since through the products and services offered, the customs and traditions of our country will be revived.  We hope that the centre of Limassol will gain the recognition and glamour it deserves through this project. The refurbishment of the “Limassol AGORA” aims at creating a place where Cypriot citizens will feel like home and a place that will become a must-see destination for the visitors of our city.

The Limassol Municipality is also planning to upgrade the parking lot on A. Themistokleous street by installing an automatic parking barrier to facilitate the visitors of the city centre.
