The unacceptable phenomenon of the illegal placement of objects/things in public areas (streets, sidewalks, squares, parks, walkways, bicycle ways, on-street parking  lots etc.) by owners/managers of shops, other establishments or any other individual , has been observed.

The Limassol Municipality would like to draw the attention of offenders to the fact that , all streets, sidewalks and public areas fall under the full jurisdiction of the Municipality which ensures the safe and uninterrupted passage of pedestrians and vehicles. The Municipality warns all offenders that it ,in no circumstance,  will allow any intervention or expropriation of public areas in the interests  of any business or person /s.

Particularly, concerning the on-street parking lots, the Municipality states that they were created to serve all citizens without exception and in no way they may be withheld for customer use of specific shops or establishments.

In the event of non-compliance with the above, the Municipality , according to the <> shall proceed without further notice to the removal of any illegally placed objects /things in streets, sidewalks or  any other public areas and to take legal action against all offenders.
