PRESENTATION OF THE NEW SEA ACCESS RAMP FOR PEOPE WITH MOBILITY PROBLEMS AND SEA PATROL VESSELS TO MONITOR THE LIMASSOL COASTAL AREA
The Limassol Municipality present to the Media the new sea access ramp for people with mobility problems on Monday, 23/07/2018 at 11:30 at the Olympia Coast opposite Debenhams Olympia, within the framework of its participation in the European CIVITAS DESTINATIONS program.
An integrated mobility solution is also included in the project, with blind and deaf people systems installation at traffic light crossings.
The Municipality has further improved the sea access ramp, by placing a special track that is directed to the sea and is intended for use by special wheelchairs.
Moreover, the Limassol Municipality has purchased a special amphibious wheelchair that will allow people with mobility problems to enjoy a dip in the sea.
It should be noted that a similar wheelchair will be delivered very soon, while the Municipality intends to purchase a third one.
The whole project was entirely funded by the European program CIVITAS DESTINATIONS.
Finally, sea patrol vessels and other means of monitoring of the Limassol coastal area will also be presented.
