Presentation of the New Immediate Intervention Service of the Limassol Municipality

A press conference was held today, 24/07/2018 as to present the new Immediate Intervention Service of the Limassol Municipality. 

The Service team will consist of two municipal technicians and a fully equipped vehicle. The public will be able to contact the Service at 77777788. The Service will operate during Municipal working hours and will be on standby during the remaining non-working hours and on public holidays. The team will be handling and taking care of incidents that require immediate intervention throughout the day.  

The main tasks undertaken will be the following:

  1. Collection of dead animals (cats, dogs, birds etc.)
  2. Collection of stray dogs
  3. Removal of objects and debris from pavements and streets and cleaning (e.g. oils, bricks, concrete and other building materials, glass etc.) κ
  4. Removal of banners and posters from street lighting poles, traffic lights and other points
  5. Pest control to exterminate fleas, ticks, bees and wasps
  6. Review of complaints relating to dirty water diversion channels to streets
  7. Repair of dangerous pits on pavements and streets and removal of trunks and branches preventing pedestrian and vehicle circulation
  8. Interventions in cases of natural disaster

The aim of the Limassol Municipality is to continuously improve and mobilise the services of the Municipality in such a way that it is possible to resolve, immediately and effectively, everyday problems that concern and affect citizens.
