Call for tender for Limassol Carnival Museum

The Limassol Municipality announces that it has launched a call for tender for the provision of services relevant to the creation of a Carnival Museum in Limassol.  

The Museum will be hosted at Panos Solomonides Cultural Centre, which is located at 8, Panos Solomonides street in Limassol.  

The call for tenders concerns external expertise for the following:

i.        Architectural design of the space in order to successfully host the Museum.

ii.        Scientific team for the study of the history and evolution of the Carnival, the collection and evaluation of the material to be exhibited and the promotion of the institution of the Limassol Carnival.

iii.        Identification of the appropriate sources from which the material to be exhibited will be collected.

iv.        Collection of objects, scripts, costumes and anything else that could and should be exhibited at the Museum and which will be recorded, evaluated, photographed and archived accordingly.

v.        Scenario of the exhibition and thematic units through which the history and evolution of the Limassol Carnival will be presented, the way Limassol has celebrated and continues to celebrate the Carnival, the way Limassolians of different backgrounds have participated in the Carnival over time, the preparations of Carnivalists in different workshops, the peak of the Carnival and the Great Parade, as well as traditions and customs that faded with the passing of time or that got lost in the modern era of  the Carnival.

vi.        The study of the infrastructures for the design of the Museum area, the drawing up of construction plans for the implementation of the Museum and the conditions for the call for tenders for the implementation of the project , as well as the assignment of the coordination and overseeing of the entire project to independent experts.

vii.        The way the collected material will be exhibited and the delivery of the Museum with all necessary facilities and exhibits to the public.

 The project is expected to be completed in approximately two years.
