Limassol Municipality invited by S.E.G.A.S to attend Athens Street Pole Vault event

The Limassol Municipality was invited by S.E.G.A.S (Hellenic Athletics Federation) to attend the annual Athens Street Pole Vault event held from 23 to 26 June 2019. The Municipality was represented by the head of the Municipality’s Sports Office, Mr Yiannos Zisimides.  

Mr Zisimides had the chance to meet with coaches, athletes and their managers in the aim to organise an international all-star tennis tournament in our city. The views exchanged during the meetings indicated a positive outcome.

Following this event, the Municipality’s Sports Office decided to include the organisation of a street pole vault event in its action plan. Mr Zisimides had the opportunity to see from up close how to organise, run and set up such an event. It was a spectacular event that kept attendees engaged throughout all four days.

During his visit to Athens, Mr Zisimides met with the representative of the Head of the Athens Municipality Sports Office, Ms Evlambia Embeoglou. Ms Embeoglou pledged to collaborate with the Sports Office of our Municipality in order to jointly organise a series of sports activities.

Mr Zisimides collected a great deal of information and material on major sporting events which will be particularly useful for the organisation of subsequent events.
