Renos Loizou (1948-2013): the matter as landscape
A long-awaited painting exhibition is presented by the Limassol Municipal Arts Centre – Apothikes Papadaki, the first retrospective exhibition in Cyprus of the renowned painter artist Renos Loizou, curated by George Taxiarchopoulos and entitled, “Renos Loizou (1948-2013): the matter as landscape” from 28/03 until 3/05/2025.
The exhibition honors the entire work of the famous artist, who lived almost all his life in Cambridge, Britain, where he worked and had excelled mainly during the 70s, 80s, and 90s, while it brings together almost all of his paintings which can be found at the moment in Cyprus. The exhibition showcases a total of 59 paintings, while 67 of them are included in its catalogue, from 16 private art collectors and from the Art Collections of the S.O.F.I.A. Foundation, the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation and the State Collection of Cyprus Art.
The opening of the exhibition will be held on behalf of H.E. President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides, by the Deputy Minister of Culture Dr. Vasiliki Kassianidou on Friday, 28/03/2025 at 19:00 at the Limassol Municipal Arts Centre – Apothikes Papadaki in the presence of art collectors, officials and distinguished guests.
