The Mayor of Limassol meets with the Ambassador of France in Cyprus

A meeting was held today between the Mayor of Limassol, the Ambassador of France in Cyprus, Mr René Troccaz and Mr Christos Papavassiliou, Honorary Consul of France in Limassol, during which, both parties reaffirmed their commitment and readiness to develop and strengthen the cooperation between Limassol and its twin city, Marseille, and France in general, with the aim of exchanging knowledge, experiences and expertise on issues of common interest.  

Among the issues discussed was the visit of a delegation from Marseille to Cyprus as to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation for the provision of consulting services within the framework of Marseille’s Euroméditerranée project, the largest urban town planning project undertaken in southern Europe, on the redevelopment of the underdeveloped area between Limassol’s old and new port, the cooperation on the development of cruise tourism and joint cultural events and activities, starting with a painting and photography exhibition featuring artists from both Limassol and Marseille.
