Limassol Mayor meets with Chief Constable to step up patrols in sensitive areas

The Mayor of Limassol, Nicos Nicolaides, held a meeting today with Limassol’s Chief Constable and the Director of the Turkish Cypriot Property Management on the issue of recent incidents of violence and vandalism.

The existing security measures and ways to increase them were discussed.

It was agreed that the Limassol Police will step up its patrols in sensitive areas of the city. The Turkish Cypriot Property Management Service will install a closed circuit system and improved lighting outside the Köprülü mosque and perhaps other sensitive areas.

Both the Limassol Municipality and the Limassol Police confirmed their intention to work together to deal effectively with all forms of violence and anti-social behavior, xenophobia and intolerance in order to maintain security and social cohesion in our city.
