Huge prospects lay ahead for Limassol and Cyprus with the impending start of cruises from the Port of Limassol

The Mayor of Limassol Mr Nicos Nicolaides participated today in a teleconference hosted by the Deputy-Minister of Tourism Savvas Perdios  in which the Minister of Transport Communication and Works Mr Yiannis Karousos, the Deputy-Minister for Maritime Affairs  Mr Vasilis Demetriades, and the Chief Executive Officer of DP World Limassol, the management  company for the passenger section of Limassol Port, Mr Nawaf Abdulla participated.

During the teleconference all preparations that need to take place to ensure the proper functioning of the cruises that will be organized by world class companies were discussed. The Mayor of Limassol having thanked the three ministers for their efforts, pointed out that the Municipality of Limassol and the rest of the town’s entities will do their best in order that the visitors to our city will receive a memorable experience so much with the hospitality and sightseeing of our city as much as with events that promote the uniqueness of Limassol and Cyprus as a tourist destination. The impending start of organized cruises following many years of reduced movement, prescribes the   prospects to make the Port of our city once again an important centre for cruises in the Mediterranean. The Mayor expressed his confidence towards the State services as well as to the management company of the Port  that they will fulfil successfully all necessary preparations.
