Construction plans contract for Heroes’ Square regeneration signed
Another benchmark project in Limassol is one step closer to its implementation after the signing of the contract for the elaboration of the construction plans. The regeneration of the historic Heroes’ Square is right around the corner and as Limassol Mayor, Nicos Nicolaides, stated, this project has always ranked among the top priorities of and commitments made by the current Municipal Council that had announced the architectural competition for its redevelopment at an earlier stage. He added that the aim of the Municipality, with the renovation of the Square, which was the main object of the competition, is to underline the significance of the Square through the historical and social background, the architectural and monumental elements that characterise the area and that have played an important role in the development of the city to date.
The contract for the construction plans was signed between the Mayor, Nicos Nicolaides, on behalf of the Municipality and Socrates Stratis, the company AA & U and Christos Pasadakis.
According to the signed contract, a timeframe of 7 months has been fixed for the delivery of the study, while a call for tenders will follow in order for the construction phase to begin right after the award of the tender.
