On the occasion of the official visit of the Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa, Theodore II to our city, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Cyprus University of Technology, the Limassol Municipality and the Patriarchate of Alexandria for the digitization of the Historical Archive of the Patriarchate of Alexandria by the Digital Cultural Heritage Research Lab and the Library of the Cyprus University of Technology with the support of the Limassol Municipality.

The Memorandum was signed by the Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa, Theodore II, the CUT Rector, Andreas Anayiotos and the Mayor of Limassol, Nicos Nicolaides.

This cooperation opportunity emerged following a meeting with the Patriarch at the Patriarchate of Alexandria, during a trip organized by the Limassol Municipality aiming at the collaboration between corresponding city authorities last October.

The Memorandum includes joint cultural, scientific, educational events, activities, services and studies as well as support from the Language Centre of the CUT to the boarders of the Theological School of the Patriarchate of Alexandria when it comes to learning Greek.
